I was sent his graphic novel via Netgalley for an honest review- thank you to the publisher!

In the early hours after Halloween of 1988, four 12-year-old newspaper delivery girls uncover the most important story of all time. Suburban drama and otherworldly mysteries collide in this smash-hit series about nostalgia, first jobs, and the last days of childhood.

Set during the 1980s comes foul mouthed teenage paper girls who roam the streets at night in a regimented style, that manage to get involved in strange alien occurrences. With a female dominated cast I thought was fantastic, all of them have various styles and brilliant humour of the typical "girls with attitude."

The plot is set during Halloween night as the girls are delivering papers and it all starts kicking off when strange goings on occur that centre around the fascination of aliens and outer space- relating much to the 80s scene with the wonders of other planets and life forms.

The drawings are stunning and the colours fit the style of the novel. This first volume has set up suspense for the coming issues and I'm so excited to get my teeth into it already...and it's pretty much the perfect story for young girls who are determined to express their dominance in the world with their badass attitudes, that typical age where we know everything and anything only they have the cool edge.

I love a good sci-fi story, but thankfully with this one it wasn't too technical. It was enough for me to understand and gave some mystery too because who doesn't like to be a little confused with technical stuff? For me it gives it a mysterious edge that I love.

As my first graphic novel I seriously need to catch up with Brian Vaughan's other works such as Saga. Bring me the next volume to this series already please!
