Many thanks to the publisher for sending me this book for an honest review via Netgalley! :-)

Emmy just wants to be in charge of her own life.

She wants to stay out late, surf her favorite beach- go anywhere without her parents' relentless worrying. But Emmy's parents can't seem to let her grow up- not since the day Oliver disappeared.

Oliver needs a moment to figure out his heart.

He'd thought, all these years, that his dad was the good guy. He never knew that it was his father who kidnapped him and kept him on the run. Discovering it, and finding himself returned to his old hometown, all at once, has his heart racing and his thoughts swirling.

Emmy and Oliver were going to be best friends forever, or maybe even more, before their futures were ripped apart. In Emmy's soul, despite the space and time between them, their connection has never been severed. But is their story still written in the stars? Or are their hearts like the pieces of two different puzzles- impossible to fit together?

I had been told so many times to begin reading this book as soon as I got it sent to me, nothing but great reviews and you know what? This book really is great! A super sweet, romantic, teen read that I adore.

We meet Emmy a seventeen year old girl who loves to surf in secret and hang out with her best friends Caroline and Drew.

Ten years ago her best friend and childhood sweetheart Oliver is taken by his Dad, now Oliver has returned and is finding it hard to adjust back into his life.

Emmy helps Oliver settle back in even though he's a year behind her at school, what's upsetting for her is that Oliver remembers very little about his hometown and old friends- including Emmy.

After a dinner date, babysitting and Drew's party. Emmy and Oliver get to know each other all over again and it's as if they've never been apart. Soon enough they get together and support each other through their last year in school and the decisions they're faced with college plans and Oliver's Dad who is still missing and wanted by the police.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book from start to finish, a light-hearted read with some really cute moments! Emmy was a great protagonist, strong-willed, supportive and hilarious.

This love story is a sweet and mature read, it's not too cheesy it's cute enough! I was worried it would be too cringey for my liking but no this book was written with good taste! Oliver and Emmy are the high school couple you would look upon from a distance and believe that it's real, maybe a hint of jealousy would be in the air because they simply are adorable and their personalities bounce off of each other- where was my Oliver in high school?!

I wouldn't be surprised if Robin Benway decided to write a sequel to this novel, not that it needs one but I can see there to be room for one. I can't seem to fault the book at all, and I'm interested in reading more from this author for certain!
