Liebster Award!

34

Heya everyone! I know I've been a bit irregular with my blogging this week but I've been putting in more hours at work as next Friday is payday and I will soon be holiday shopping- so extra money means even more cute dresses to be bought! Blogging will be a lot more organised and constant next week (hopefully!)

So I've been nominated for the Liebster Award by the lovely Cecilie at 'Little Miss Cucie and her readings' so go check out her blog!
Thank you very much for the nomination Cecilie- very kind of you and made me blush!

Here are the rules for nominating:

1) Thank the person who nominated you and link to their blog.

2) Answer the 10 questions given by the nominator.

3) Nominate and link 10 bloggers (with less than 200 followers).

4) Notify all the bloggers you've nominated.

5) Create 10 new questions for your nominees to answer.

Below are the 10 questions Cecilie has set me to answer:

What is your favourite setting in a book?

My favourite setting would have to be the countryside, there's something so fresh and yet unknown. A lot of books I like are set in the country (particularly murder mystery) and just the descriptions of it being quiet and tranquil seem to allure me in. But I do love a book set in a city such as London where I'm familiar with, helps me imagine the book much better!

What is your favourite musical?

Les Miserables for definite!!! Oh my gosh I could watch this musical over and over again- I sing along too (which isn't such a good thing!) haha.

Which language do you prefer your books to be in?

Well us English are renowned for not being good at languages (apart from a minority of awesome people who are fabulous at languages), so English! At some point I would love to practice my French seeing as I did study it during high school :-)

What is one book that you have heard nothing but good things about, but you ended up not liking as much as everyone else?

To Kill A Mockingbird, my god. Don't get me wrong the message that the book conveys is an important one but I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. The first three quarters, not a lot happens I literally liked the last part of it because it picked up. To put it simply for me it was over-hyped, I might have enjoyed it more if there wasn't so much hype around it. Or perhaps I expected too much from it!

Which genres are your least favourites?

I think erotica has to be my least favourite, don't get me wrong romance books with a bit of heat are great! But I don't want to read a porno, if anything it makes the book a huge turn off for me. When every other page is someone getting it on, it becomes tedious. I love a good plot and for it to completely blow my mind haha.

If you could live anywhere you wanted, where would it be?

I'm very much a home bird, I love my country and it makes me sad that others regard it as awful when in my opinion it's not. I'm lucky where I live. I think if I had to choose somewhere it would be either Ireland or Canada, I've visited Ireland a couple of times and I adore the endless amount of scenery and the people (who I've come across) are so lovely! Canada because it looks gorgeous, there's plenty of places to explore and because yeah...it seems a great place to be! :-)

What are your plans for summer?

I have a holiday in Spain this month to look forward to, plenty of reading (obviously), trips to London with friends and just enjoying the sunshine and spending time with my friends :-)

What movie are you most excited for this year, whether book related or not?

I read Far From The Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy last month and I LOVED it, I want to see the  film so much now! I'm not sure it's still in cinema's or not- may have to wait for the DVD now haha!

If you could ban a book, which would it be and why?

I actually don't know, I read a book called 'Hush' this year and it just really wasn't my cup of tea, I don't feel mean enough to ban it but that's the only one I could think of haha- oops sorry!

What is your favourite weather for reading?

Hmm sunny or raining, I don't particularly mind as long as I have peace and quiet haha! :-)
