So Lee Child's first Jack Reacher mystery following Jack (obviously), a thirty-something loner ex military cop who gets arrested in Margrave, Georgia for a murder he didn't commit.
After providing himself an alibi, he soon gets involved in solving the crime that seems to have involved the whole town. Not only that but he's the caught the interest of the only young feisty lady police officer, Roscoe.
I don't want to give too much away with the plot because like all crime/mystery novels you can give something away very easily that ends up spoiling the whole book! Just know that the plot is complex and easy to follow once the mystery unravels and the secrets unfold. The character of Jack Reacher did somewhat remind me of Ian Fleming's James Bond to an extent, but originality isn't everything. For me Reacher is like an American James Bond and I'm definitely fine with that. I think its hard to not compare these kind of characters as they can't help but be somewhat similar.
Overall this book is a page-turner, it kept me guessing throughout but I was surprised that it was over 500 pages- it felt like a short read and I'm looking forward to reading what else Jack Reacher gets up to in the following books by Lee Child. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoy thriller-type mysteries.
